Water, Ice & Frost
Water, water, everywhere - and literally true in this case, as it gives us multiple
options for photographs. For this subject, I have included photographs of water in
all its’ forms, from the natural flowing liquid to images where it has frozen solid.
For landscapes, water scenes are always attractive, giving us some amazing reflections;
and in the case of cascading water, we have waterfalls. Water frozen on flowers looks
amazing, making the effort of taking a photograph in freezing temperatures worthwhile.

Reflections on a pond or lake always make for an attractive image.

The classic waterfall photograph, where I used a slow shutter speed, exposing the
film for half a second, so that the flowing water takes on the appearance of cotton
wool.

High Force waterfall in Teesdale, where the whole of the River Tees plunges over
to create a quite spectacular demonstration of the power of the natural world. I
like the contrast between the flowing water on the left and the ice on the right,
where once flowing water has frozen in place.

Not sure where I took this photograph. When I am out and about taking photos, I always
look for items that add a certain something, in this case, the boat, which gives
a bit of pictorial interest.
